We also collect certain technical information automatically when you visit our website (see Section 2c above) through the use of cookies. Cookies are small text files placed on your device by your browser. We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to help us understand how visitors interact with our site — for example, which pages are visited and how visitors arrive at the site.

You may opt out of Google Analytics data collection at any time by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You can also configure your browser to refuse cookies, though this may affect the functionality of some websites.

We do not purchase, rent, or obtain personal information from data brokers or other third-party sources.

4 How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

We do not use personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

5 How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your personal information with the following categories of third parties for the purposes described in this policy:

These service providers are permitted to use your information only as directed by us and for the purposes described in this policy. They are not permitted to sell or use your data for their own independent marketing purposes.

b. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about how visitors use our website, such as pages visited, time spent on site, and the source that referred you here. This information is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

We have enabled IP anonymization in Google Analytics, which means your IP address is truncated by Google before being stored. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.

Google’s use of data collected through Google Analytics is governed by the Google Analytics Terms of Service and Google’s Privacy Policy. You can learn more about how Google uses data from its partners at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

To opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you may install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

c. Facebook / Social Media

We maintain a page on Facebook (operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.). When you visit or interact with our Facebook Page, Meta independently collects data about you in accordance with its own Meta Privacy Policy. We do not control Meta’s data practices. As a page administrator, we receive only aggregated, anonymized Page Insights analytics (such as total page views and general audience demographics) and do not receive personally identifiable information about individual visitors from Meta.

We do not install a Facebook Pixel or any other Meta tracking code on this website, and we do not use Facebook tools to track your activity across other websites.

d. Legal and Regulatory Disclosures

We may disclose personal information when required to do so by law, court order, or government regulation, or when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights or safety of EDH Fiber, its members, or others.

e. No Sale or Sharing for Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising

We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes (tracking your activity across websites to show you targeted ads).

6 Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy and to support the ongoing development of EDH Fiber. Specifically:

You may request deletion of your personal information at any time (see Your Rights, below). We will honor such requests promptly, except in the limited circumstances where we are legally required to retain certain information.

7 Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA and its updated 2026 regulations:

a. Right to Know

You have the right to request that we disclose to you the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which it was collected, the purposes for which it is used, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared.

b. Right to Delete

You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions permitted by law (such as when retention is necessary to complete a transaction you requested or to comply with a legal obligation).

c. Right to Correct

You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.

d. Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing

You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information or its sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising (targeted ads based on your activity across websites). As noted above, we do not sell or share personal information for these purposes. No opt-out action is needed, but you may contact us to confirm this at any time.

e. Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information

You have the right to direct us to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to perform the services you have requested. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined under CCPA, so this right does not currently apply to our data practices.

f. Right to Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. We will not deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised a privacy right.

g. How to Submit a Privacy Request

To exercise any of the rights described above, please contact us at:

EDH Fiber — Privacy Requests Email: privacy@edhfiber.org

We will verify your identity before processing a request. We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days, or notify you if we need additional time (up to 90 days total). There is no charge for submitting a request, up to twice per 12-month period.

8 Notice at Collection

In compliance with CCPA, we provide this notice at or before the time we collect personal information. When you complete any sign-up form, survey, or contact form on our website, we collect the categories of personal information listed in Section 2 above. Our website and programs are not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at privacy@edhfiber.org and we will promptly delete it.

10 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top of this document.
